History

Lazybear joined the competitive scene in 2018, late-joining SCL4 in the then-massive Challenger division. Despite this late join, Lazybear went 6-2 as a fledgling player and would go on to win the postseason Challenger tournament. That same year, Lazybear took a close second place in his group in the Summer Cup, getting second on tiebreakers to the eventual champion, Yeesh. He would go on to take third place in the inaugural Winter Cup.

Lazybear was placed into Gold for SCL5, where he would go on to place third.

This becomes a trend as Lazybear again places 3rd, this time in the Summer Cup of 2019, where he fell to the reigning KrazyCaley in the semifinals.

However, Lazybear’s luck would soon change as SCL6 began; unveiling a new strategy on Aquarium, and displaying an impossibly strong sniper, Lazybear nearly swept SCL6 Platinum, one of the strongest SCL divisions ever seen. The only thing that kept him from a perfect season was a last-minute draw to OpiWrites. Despite this minor blemish, Lazybear would go on to beat 2nd place Ryooo in both the Platinum finals and the playoffs for the SCL championship, eventually making his way to the SCL6 finals. Tired of third place, Lazybear skipped over 2nd entirely and won the event in dominant fashion over veteran Diamond player WarningTrack.

Style

Lazybear displays what is likely the strongest behavioral sniper in the game, taking extremely accurate lowlights while locking down important mission sites to suffocate his opponent’s spy. The spy side, however, is where he truly shines; a strong awareness of the sniper’s attention allows him to play proactively, both completing missions and framing AI in a way that misdirects snipers constantly. He is a fan of venues where the spy can accurately predict and control the sniper’s attention—particularly Aquarium, as he is extremely proficient and even pioneered many Aquarium-specific strategies to great competitive success.
